ELA 10-1 is designed for students who enjoy engaging with literature, and there is an emphasis on critical and analytical thinking.  Students are expected to have mastered grammar, spelling, and punctuation at the onset of the course, as the course is rigorous

and serves as a foundation for future university studies.  As such, academic writing will

be stressed; primarily, two main forms of academic writing are introduced and refined throughout ELA 10-1, 20-1, and 30-1.  See the following links for course support:
